How To Shop For Fun and Leave StressBehind : Retail Therapy to the Rescue


Researchers define stress as a, psychological, physical, or emotive factor that causes you to have mental or corporal (physical) tension. When our bodies are stressed, we actually allow toxins to build up in our system. Somehow, we need to release them. For most females and even some males, one really fantastic way to do this is to take a day off for retail therapy.

Shopping, similar to tanning beds and exercise, helps to release endorphins, which in turn release stress. When you are under stress you sometimes do not feeling like doing anything. Yet, getting out and being around people and making yourself feel good with a new outfit just might be the way to go.

The best ways to go about relieving stress while shopping definitely include not making more stress for you while you are shopping. In order to avoid this you need first make a plan.

Decide whether or not you are going to take a friend with you. That is step one. Taking a friend can be a great stress reliever because it helps you to think outward instead of inward and keeps you mind off of you. However, if you really feel you need some alone time, then take it and go by yourself.

Next, figure out where you are going to go shopping. Do you want to buy something to wear or do you want to buy something for the house? Either way it should be something that will make you feel good about you. This is about relieving your stress. When you decide what it is you are looking for, and then you can decide whether you are going to the mall, or certain specialty stores. This will alleviate any stress the next day as to where to go next.

Make a budget. How much do have to spend. The last thing you want to do is give yourself money problems after this shopping trip. We are relieving stress not causing it. Choose an amount you are happy with and stick to it.

Decide what it is you would ideally like to buy. Is it a new shirt, pants, a rug for the bathroom? Write these things down and list them in the order of most importance to you.

Now you have a plan. Not only are you relieving stress by going shopping, but you are relieving stress by accomplishing something and organizing a piece of your life. Things suddenly do not seem so chaotic anymore and you know you have a nice day ahead of you.

On the day of you shopping trip make sure you eat a good breakfast. Being hungry will make you irritable and you will wear out quickly without much enjoyment or relaxation.

Take your time getting ready. Wear something nice. This is especially true if you are going clothes shopping. You need to wear something compatible with the clothes you are going to be trying on. You already know this because they are on your list.

Already you are going to be feeling like a new person and the worries of yesterday will be just that. Now go out and have a nice day. Everything is planned so there is nothing to be stressed about!
