The templates from csstemplatesforfree are really lightweight. In fact, many of them take up less than 100 KB when uncompressed. But the fact that they are lightweight don't make them designer quality. In fact, most of the templates aren't WOW quality. They are all a little bland, pretty normal, and none of them are very eye catching. If you want your website to pop at the eyes of the visitors, you should look for a better place. It's okay if you have to pay for the templates; if you are committed to making your website look good, it will be worth it.
