Poetry: Family struggles

When will the pain stop?

Only when every bone I have begins to pop

Never before have I hurt this long

I can’t understand why things are so wrong

I smile at my children hoping they can’t see my tears

All I allow them to see is a face full of love and lots of cheers

I will never let them see mom and dad cry because we are struggling

Living paycheck to paycheck with so many bills that we are juggling

Almost homeless with no place to go

To my children I am superwoman to them my fears will never show

I pray for help of any kind

Still I keep getting in such a tight bind

When will things turn around and start to go right?

Where is the end where is the light?
