Part of "Gift-Giving Etiquette 101" states that when purchasing a gift, choosing one from a gift registry is the best way to go.
Whether it is a bridal gift registry, a wedding gift registry, or a baby gift registry, there are several reasons behind following this golden rule.
If you will be attending a baby shower in the near future and the expectant parent/s have opted for a baby gift registry, here are at least five reasons why you should buy a gift from a baby gift registry:
1. Provides the parent/s with what they want and need.
2. Makes buying a gift much easier.
3. Cuts down on duplicate gift items.
4. It's the proper thing to do.
5. Special circumstances may call for special items.
* Get Them What They Want, Get Them What They Need.
The main reason for purchasing a gift from a baby registry is that the expectant parent/s will get exactly what they want and need. Sticking to the registry will cut out any chances of dissatisfying Mom and Dad, as well as showering them with a plethora of gifts that they have no need for.
* Get In and Get Out.
Buying a gift from a baby registry takes all the footwork and complications out of trying to find the appropriate baby gift. Simply check the list, choose one according to your budget, and make your purchase.
* No Duplicates.
Since most baby registries are equipped with a system that automatically removes a purchased item at the checkout counter, buying an item from a baby gift registry cuts down on gifting the expectant parent/s with duplicate items. This means less trips back to the store to return unneeded gifts.
* Proper Etiquette.
Depending on your circumstances, opting out of purchasing a gift from a baby registry may come across as a simple case of bad manners.
While it is common courtesy for the recipient to be grateful that others are spending their hard earned money, many may feel like their wishes and desires were not respected or simply pushed aside when the choose is made to purchase items off of the baby registry.
* Special Needs.
If an expectant parent/s are giving birth to multiples or infants with special health-care needs, it is definitely advisable to stick with buying items from a baby registry. Items that are vital in meeting such special needs will no doubt be added to the registry, and purchasing them will lift some of the financial responsibilities from the parent/s.
Therefore, the next time you are in the market for a great baby gift for an expectant parent/s, why not stick to the baby gift registry if one is provided. You will save yourself a whole lot of hassle and worry, all the while remaining confident that the parent/s will be pleased.
