There is nothing better than a summer date!  Walks on the beach, summer skies above, romance in the air around you.  But what kind of summer dates are the best dates?  You can go for traditional or try something new and the best part - weather is usually always nice enough to try just about anything.

Here are some top favorite dating ideas of all time:

1.) Traditional walk on the beach - everyone loves the feeling of sand between their toes, water washing upon the shores while you walk hand in hand with a new love.  It's an oldie but a goodie.

2.) Water sports - Fun for everyone even those on a first date.  You can rent a boat and go sailing, kayaking, diving, wind surfing.  Water sports are a fun way to break the ice and have a blast with someone on a first date if they are up for new challenges.

3.) Picnic on the beach and sand castles - Nothing spells romance like a blanket on the beach, some great and tasty food and maybe some buckets with some shovels to show off your sand castle skills.  Playing in the sand isn't just fun for kids but even big kids can have a blast making a castle with a new friend.

4.) Cruise around the harbor - Check your local listings for any cruises that are going on during the summer.  They are often inexpensive, very romantic, music is provided, some drinks and good food.  It can be a wonderful and relaxing atmosphere to get to know someone on a first date.

5.) Dancing and Music in the park - Something that is traditional yet still goes on in many major cities and even small towns, too.  Local bands will get together and showcase their musical talents.  There isn't anything more fun than sharing great conversation, lovely music and even some dancing in the park surrounded by trees, people and a good first date choice.

6.) Take me out to the ball game - Buy me some peanuts and cracker jacks, kick back and relax and watch your local team play ball.  Baseball games might not sound like a great first date but they can be.  

Lots of innings to get to know one another, watch some baseball under the lights as the sun goes down as many nights games are playing during the summer months.  Give it a shot!

7.) Drive in Movie - Nothing beats dinner and movie for a first date.  Well instead of taking that special someone out to a crowded movie theater, check your city to see where the nearest drive in theater is.
