Great family neighborhoods in Apex, North Carolina

There are quite a few great family neighborhoods in Apex, North Carolina.  Overall, you can't go wrong in Apex in terms of friendly people, nice houses and a safe community.  Apex is not really a small town but it certainly has a small town feeling to it.

Scott's Mill-

If you love Victorian houses with gingerbread cut-outs and beautiful, spacious porches, then Scott's Mill is for you.  If you've always wanted one of those big, old Victorians but didn't want to buy the money pit, you'll love this area.  All the houses have a unique look to them.  Scott's Mill is right off Apex-Barbecue Road.  There are single family homes here and condos.  There's a small strip mall located in the neighborhood and St. Mary Magdalene's Catholic Church is also in the neighborhood.

Not only are the houses adorable but the neighbors are friendly, too.  There's a pool and clubhouse that each family can join. There's also a seniors club, a swim team and a children's activities committee.

Shepherd's Vineyard-

Shepherd's Vineyard is in a great location with easy access to the Eva Perry Library, Apex High School and the Food Lion strip mall.  The houses in Shepherd's Vineyard are very cute.  Remember those drawings you made as a kid with the door in the center, two windows beside the door and three windows on top?  That's exactly how a lot of the houses in the neighborhood look.

In this neighborhood people walking dogs, jogging and chatting in yards are all common sights. You couldn't ask for a friendlier, more welcoming group of people.  There's a neighborhood pool where your kids can join the swim team, too.

Haddon Hall-

This neighborhood is also located in a great spot.  It's just a short ride to Beaver Creek Commons, a large shopping complex which includes everything from Super Target to Old Navy.  The houses in the neighborhood are impressive.  While the lots aren't huge and the houses are fairly big, it doesn't seem crowded at all.  There are all kind of houses in this neighborhood and each one is stunning. This neighborhood has single family homes and condos.

As with most neighborhoods in Apex, this one has a pool and a swim team, too.  Their website shows an active community with Scouting events, Easter egg hunts and a Found Item listing, which goes to show what kind of folks live in Haddon Hall.

Laurel Park-

Laurel Park is a fairly new neighborhood right next to Laurel Park elementary school off Laura Duncan Road.  This is on the very edge of Apex next to the town of Cary.  It's quite close to the railroad tracks but everything in Apex is close to the railroad tracks.  Apex Community Park is within walking distance.  It's a great place to walk your dog or jog around the lake.

No matter what neighborhood you choose in Apex, you really can't go wrong.  Apex is a great place to live and raise a family.  It's a safe community with a lot to offer.
