Why Society has so many problems
No matter where you live in the U.S., society is becoming more and more diverse in culture, religion and in intellect; where communities are being constructed to house folk with varying income levels and ethnic cultural backgrounds.
Today, many communities are being developed to accommodate single-families...and, there are just as many apartment units being developed to accommodate singles (male and female), childless couples, and the elderly.
As this may seem to be the trend in society and in our economy…what you'll find is folk leaving from one environment, into another, and lacking the tolerance necessary in dealing with the differences in behavior between themselves and their neighbors' that will (most likely) never change.
A prime example: I moved from a large city on the East coast with a corporate background into a less populated metropolis in another state, and later retired. It was a culture shock and major life change for me, indeed.
However, if I had not experienced the love of Christ, and a greater love and understanding for my fellow man prior to my move, it may have been more difficult for me to adjust to the change. I had to first undergo change within myself.
At the onset of relocating, I met and fell in-love with a man born and raised in the community and blue-collar life I soon became a part of. This didn’t come with ease, I assure you.
For, what prompted the move in the first place was the attempted theft of my vehicle from directly in front of where I resided. That was the last draw (for me) of what has become the 'norm' in the neighborhood where crime is concerned.
I learned (at an early age) that ‘the more you know…the more you’ll grow’. I've since taken that message to be the remedy for counteracting the affects of ignorance and many acts of personal and societal assaults.
I've learned to be wise in my determinations of others, considering where the source of their ignorance come from, and not be judgmental.
The Word of God teaches in Romans 12:18, "If it be possible, as much as it is within you, live peaceably with all men." The 21st verse reads, "Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good."
In my personal opinion…society has so many problems because folk are less willing to undergo personal change for growth in themselves, and expect others to change to accommodate their ways; and, unless a person is willing to undergo a circumcision of the heart (spiritually speaking), and be learners of life-changing truths…a spiritual awakening to become a new creature will not occur…making it more difficult to master the keys of life and living in the midst of others anywhere in society.
Folk become who they have learned to become, and will pass on their negative mind-sets to those who are just as weak. Growth is a daily and on-going process, and is a personal and individual thing to persue.
And, unless the proper seed is sewn in all of us, and are capable of allowing normal germination to take place to produce good fruit…spores of dry, useless and bitter fruit will crop.
