Poetry: My pain

by Cathryn Windin

Created on: May 06, 2010

The Darkness Dwells Within Me

The darkness dwells within me

And no one really knows

How lonely I am inside

Behind my perfect mask.

The darkness dwells within me,

But I relish in its

Cold embrace while it

Blocks out all the light.

The darkness dwells within me,

Rising in a tide of

Crimson blood that beads

From my deepest scars.

The darkness dwells within me

And there’s no way out

From its deepest tunnels

Of depression and despair.

The darkness dwells within me,

But I relish in its

Cold embrace while it

Blocks out all the light.
