Two words "instant gratification" have been responsible for the staggering failure rate of many internet marketers. So now that I've said these words, I want you to permanently erase them from your vocabulary. Also, avoiding the three most common mistakes many internet marketers make will dictate how successful you will be.
The Grass is Always Greener...
No it isn't! Pitfall #1, jumping from one company or business opportunity to the next. I'm sure many of you can relate to this scenario...you join a company because the product is great and supposedly "sells itself", the compensation plan is unmatched in the industry or you are lured in by upline promises of instant and easy fortune. When the results don't come fast and furious, you jump at the first shiny object which gives you a glimmer of hope because you were told(sold) that this new easy no-brainer opportunity is the one that will solve all your financial problems. Wrong!
There are hundreds probably thousands of legitimate and profitable opportunities online and there in lies the problem. When looking for a place to earn a living online, ask yourself a few questions. How long has the company been around? Does it have a good reputation and is it successful? What kind of ongoing training and support is offered? Will your sponsor also be a good mentor to you? Does the compensation plan put you on a level playing field with the successful internet marketers in the company and do you have to build a huge downline to make any money? The bottom line is that you should take your time in choosing your business, do your due diligence and make sure it is a good fit for you in the long run.
The "Wing it" Strategy...
Don't do it! Pitfall #2, Dabbling in too many marketing strategies before taking the time to learn the basics of any one of them. This can be a very costly mistake and the one that creates more casualties in our business causing many to quit all together. Sometimes this may be the result of too much training available. What I mean by this is, information overload in the form of conference calls and webinar trainings on various marketing strategies. Don't get me wrong, these are valuable and useful resources, but be careful not to become a conference call junkie. If you do this you will end up overwhelmed, just knowing a bit about many strategies but mastering none of them.
When you are new to internet marketing, the key is to focus on one or two marketing strategies at the most. Put your blinders on and
