TV show reviews: Battlestar Galactica

Betrayal is thy name! SPOLERS INCLUDED

I have been a loyal fan of Battlestar Galactica since the mini series premiered back in October of 2003, I have put up with some episodes that were sub standard but none that have made me this angry and felt this betrayed.

This whole season was built on the premise that the final 5 Cylons would be revealed one character would die and one person would see Earth.

If you haven't seen the episode read no further, from here on I am going to let torpedoes fly.

This was part two and the season finalie, we have the Trial of Dr. Gaius Baltar on what charges why was he put on trial why wasn't there a decent prosecuting attorney.

We have Lee Adama suddenly take up an interest in law and defending Baltar, this leading to the predictible fight between father and son, that we have seen at every major turn leading to Lees resignation of his position as CAG.

We have the Galactica finding another area that may lead to earth.

Tonight Lee was crossexamined by his chief council to try and force admission of why this trial was wrong, well written but we had heard these lines before in other episodes not in the same way, but same purpose.

We have the verdict, Close your eyes if you haven't seen the episode. Eyes closed?

Baltar is found innocent and Admiral Adama was the swing vote.

Admiral Adama and son patch things up.

Lee ends up back in the cockput.

Four of the final 5 are revealed Tori the Presidents press aid, no surprise she has been so visible as one for so long no surprise. Anders Starbucks former husband, not sure I accept this.

Chief Tyrol totally unacceptable and worse Saul Tigh the ships Executive Officer and best friend of the Admiral.

The Galactica is caught in a nebula with a Cylon fleet, and no escape, we have seen this before.

The last insult well, you just have to see it to see how low the series has sunk.

Will I watch next year, hard to say; that will depend on if I remain angry past tomorrow about this episode.

Right now I am very upset because this episode just violated so many rules of writing. I would love to go to sleep and think this was a bad dream.

Luckily I have a long time before I will see season 4, the next series doesn't premier until January of next year. Maybe Ron Moore can get some decent writing done between now and then. Maybe.
