Poetry: Message in a bottle

by Cheryl Barnette

Created on: May 06, 2010

The Cosmos calls us out to play

on nights when we lack the will to pray

It's curtain of stars swirl in breathtaking delight;

angels appear near a dusky-dawn light;

the bodies of water churn ever so slow;

they dispense to humans bottles with messages of hope.

each bottle is black, with ingredients intact, comprised of a love note-

to each person they float.

"Love is forever" read the very first line;

The body of the message, so surreal and sublime;

With a post script from God, saying "You'll always be Mine."
