Playstation network downloadable games are always fun to try, as they provide new and unique experiences games from which you can buy hard copies from do not. Fat Princesses is a download game that costs about sixteen dollars on the network and it sure is original. The game is very addicting even if it isn't your type of game to play, it has very many silly quirks and offers a lot of fun and movement to game play.
Story 3/5 -
It certainly is something you will never see before, as you take up a villager who must save the princess and plop her back on her rightful throne, but you must keep the other village's princess a hostage while doing so. Feeding the princess cake will make her, well, fat, hence the name of the game. The game's story is quite strange and it shouldn't be taken seriously of course!
Graphics 3/5 -
The graphics are very cartoon like but that is what the game is aiming for, it just might not appeal to some folks out there. The blood and gore option is ill fitting especially if a child wants to play, good thing there is an option to turn it off! Overall the colors are bright and fun.
Game play 5/5 -
This is the best aspect of this game! Rescuing the princess from the other village and using your own tactics is very entertaining. You can choose from different classes to be such as a warrior, worker, mage, archer, etc. For example, if you are the worker you can rebuild the castle doors and even build ladders to crawl into the other side's castle. As you play through you might start to think 'will this ever get boring and not fun anymore?'. But there is something about the game play that is the main reason why this game can suck you in and not spit you out ever again! You have to play it for yourself to believe so.
Sound 2/5 -
It can get annoying, but the sounds fit the overall feel of the silly game. Crazy music and cries of the teammates are abundant so if you like a cartoon feel it may not bother you, but if you don't like it, you can always turn it off!
Overall 4/5-
Fat Princess is a great addictive game to play for hardcore and casual gamers alike! It is something that should be given at least one try.
