Poetry: Stand tall

by Amanda Pridgen

Created on: May 04, 2010

It is hard to see the good through the bad.

Especially when all you do is cry and feel worthless and sad.

Looking back on the mistakes you made.

Taking for granted everything you got paid.

Feeling as though you are getting closer to a black whole.

Wondering how you even got this far after such a long toile.

Then on day you choose to stand and not fall.

Not giving up and stand tall.

Guard is up and always scared of what tomorrow bas in store.

Praying that something changes and you come out better then before.

Believing things are the way they are for a reason.

Even though you feel you’re being punished for treason.

Yet still through adversity you somehow are still standing.

Ready for the ride to be over and with a smooth landing.

You tell your self things this bad can not last forever.

Thanking God everyday for our family being together.

So, even though times are bad.

If you look hard enough you can catch a glimpse of good and smile not to be sad.
