Apple iPad 3G versus Apple iPad Wi-Fi

For years, Apple has stunned users and flustered the technology world with one sensational masterpiece after another.  First it was the iPod, then the iPhone, and then the iPod Touch.  Will Apple once again captivate the attention of the American public with its newest device?  The revolutionary 1/2 inch thick iPad with its 10-inch crystal-clear display has the potential to transform technology and enhance the entertainment world.

Like the iPod touch, the Apple iPad provides users with a terrific opportunity to conveniently surf the web on iPad's crystal-clear touch screen.  The differences between the 3G and Wi-Fi for Apple iPad is simple.  Wifi capabilities allow the iPad to operate in essentially the same way as your laptop, allowing users to use problem-free internet in any and every wifi zone.

Finding a wifi area is easy and painless in our technologically advanced society is easy.  Fast-food places, libraries, cafes, coffee shops, hotels, and airports are all great places to find a wifi network.  To find one in your area click here.  At Jiwire you'll find a directory of 282,252+ wifi hotspots, most of them free.

On the other hand, an Apple iPad equipped with 3G capabilities operates in much the same way as the Apple iPhone, or any phone network with 3G.  The iPad will use AT&Ts 3G network for web access.  The 3G version is not yet available with iPad, but when it is, the already expensive price tag will be raised from $499 to $629 plus the cost of a 3G network service plan.

Keep in mind that the iPad also lacks a phone.  After the iPhone, the iPad disappointed many users without built-in cellular capabilities.  Finally, when the iPad is released on April 3, the Wi-Fi only iPad will start at $499 for a 16GB device.  If you want the 3G feature too, 16GB will cost $629.  Double the storage size for $100 extra.  Considering the size and features, iPad is definitely overpriced.

The iPad is a hot device on the tech market right now, and it gives users a boatload of cool features.  If you do have the money and desire, you can enjoy the convenience of HD TV, portable movies and entertainment on the large screen of the iPad when it hits shelves on April 3.
