Since "The Secret" DVD and book was announced on the Oprah Show there has been a lot of people interested in finding out more about "the law of attraction."
The law of attraction is actually quite simple, and with a bit of practice can easily become part of your lifestyle.
1) Be aware of your thoughts.
Based on the principles of the law of attraction, we attract what it is we focus on. Whatever we are thinking about, whether it is bad or good is what we will bring into our life. The more happy thoughts we have, the more happiness we will attract. Some mistakenly think that by thinking about the things they "don't want" they are doing themselves good. On the contrary, say for example that you are thinking to yourself that you do not want to be fat and broke. You are actually focusing on the idea of being overweight and experiencing financial hardship. The idea of the law of attraction is that your thoughts become your reality. So instead of thinking of the things you don't want to be, you should focus on what it is you want, such as health and fitness, and prosperity.
2) Feeling Good Is Important
Our feelings increase the energy or power of our thoughts. To feel intense sadness, anger, or frustration will only attract more of the same feelings. You want to feel happy as much as possible to attract further feelings of happiness into your life. Do what you love to do, have fun, and make sure you laugh. Rent funny movies, play with your kids or your pets, find things that excite you, relax you, or make you feel happy or content, and do them as often as possible. The more good feelings you experience, the more good will happen to you in the future.
3) Experience only good feelings and thoughts.
Forgive others, do not hold onto grudges, and give up jealousy and other destructive emotions. Feeling such as anger, hatred, jealousy, and frustration will lead to more of the same feelings in the future. Set yourself free from these negative emotions by forgiving those you hold a grudge against. Be happy for someone's success instead of envious, and replace hatred and frustration with feelings of love and peace. By letting go of all negative emotions you are opening your heart to receive happiness, peace, and abundance in every area of your life.
4) Live a life of gratitude.
Give thanks often. One of the most crucial principles of the law of attraction is gratitude. The more grateful you feel, the more thoughts of appreciation that you have, the more you will attract what it is you want into your life. By showing appreciation for all things great and small, you are opening yourself up to a world of possibilities.
5) Dream big, visualize what it is you want, and believe it will be yours.
There are no limits to what you can have in your life. A person's potential for happiness is infinite. The only limits to life are those we put on ourselves.
Whether it's health, money, success, or love that you desire, it can be yours. Dreams, no matter how big, can become reality, and there are countless success stories to prove it. Visualization is an important factor in making your dreams come true. Take time every day to picture exactly what it is you want. Visualize it as though it is happening to you right now at this very moment. Get excited, get happy, feel what it's like to have everything you desire. Have faith that what you want is not only going to happen but is happening right now.
Believe in yourself, live your life with passion, and have fun! Learn to love yourself and to appreciate all of your wonderful qualities. Live the wonderful life you are meant to live! And may all of your dreams become reality!
