Why illegal immigration is bad for illegal immigrants

Thousands are protesting Arizona’s tough new law concerning illegal immigration. While illegal immigrants come from many countries, in Arizona the majority come from neighboring Mexico, so this article will focus on that. At these rallies, impassioned people hold signs stating that human rights are being violated and pray for Arizona to change its mind.

It does seem to be the politically correct thing to do…. but not if you really care about people. Those who protest experiencedthe “feel good” sensation that they are actually helping a culture of misunderstood people. But when you really think about it, what are these protestors condoning and in essence encouraging?

America was built on immigrants. Legal immigrants, who made their way to this country and held their heads up proudly as they became welcomed citizens.

They started business’s, sent their children to our schools, learned our language and brought with them beautiful new cultures that will be forever woven in the tapestry of America. These immigrants are proud, and they should be. Americans are very proud of them.

As I watch the protestors, I wonder if the signs they carry should actually be more specific to what they advocate for these people. Perhaps they should read: I support human trafficking, I support human slavery, I support your trip through the desert (which may kill you), I support turning you into a lawbreaker and forcing you to live in the shadows.

These slogans would actually be a more honest grasp of reality. When you support illegal immigration from Mexico or anywhere else, that is the message you send to desperate people.

Condoning illegal immigration, takes noble cultures of people and turns them into votes, slave labor, endangers their lives and sets them up for a life of crime, just to survive. Not exactly the American dream now is it?

Fear not though. Many groups who encourage illegal’s to cross the boarder from Mexico feel better because they have given them the tools they may need to make the journey. GPS will help then to find their way and don’t forget about the water bottles left for those who may be dying from dehydration.

I wonder if those who provide these “tools” to help people coming over the border have ever made the trip through the desert themselves. Or are they encouraging illegal’s to take chances they themselves would never consider.
