Grateful to my Mom on Mother's Day
A Mother is many things during her life;
Nurturer, taxi, chef, confidante, teacher, friend;
All of these, a good mom performs without failure, regardless of strife.
She carries her child for over nine months, inside her womb;
Creating a new life inside her, letting it grow safely;
an unbelievable creation, like a fantastic tapestry on a loom.
Childbirth can be long and painful,
no matter which way she may choose,
but with the life she brings into this world,
it is impossible for her to lose.
As babies, she sits with us when we are tired, and rocks us to sleep.
She feeds, entertains, and teaches us;
And she comforts us when we weep.
When we are teens, we are too blind and angry to see,
Our Mom's become the enemy,
and all we think about is “Me, me, me”.
After we become adults, we grow to understand,
that our Mom's are not perfect, they are human too,
but behind us, giving support is where they will always stand.
A Mother is who we beg to see when we are hurt and alone.
Even the strongest person wants her embrace again,
when the pain is so strong all we can do is moan.
My Mom and I have had some real wars over the years.
But we have shared much laughter, among the tears.
I am thankful for all she has given and done.
For without her guidance, I never could have won;
All the trials and tribulations my life had to give.
Without her in my life, I would not have wanted to live.
She protected me from when I was very small.
Until the day when I finally will fall.
We still may not agree on every little thing.
But I would never pick another to be my Mom;
Because when I look at her all I see,
Is an angel with comfortable sheltering wings, protecting me
Thank you Mom.

Primroses and buttercups line the hedge way home
White foxgloves standing tall, gathering all as I roam
Little fingers plucking
Mother’s Day, delightful, full of reflection.
I think fondly, gratefully of the young woman

and snotty noses
of their little posers
and kissed their hurts
