The ace of heart is the shape of love. It is pictured like the outline of the organ inside our body call, the heart. Ironically, that part of organ is also the most important and crucial part of us; without it, we die. Once the heart stops beating, so do our lives. If we are not able to survive without the heart, would we be able to continue life without love?
In the reality of life, love is not an organ nor can we call it a thing. For some of us we profess to know and understand what love is. There are those who find this love ambiguous and seek forever to posses it. There is also a minority group who term love as useless and finds no use for it at all!
Yet, we cannot and will not be able to refute the existence of love.
Love is part of the universe. If we are the seeds that are planted in the soil, then the sun, rain and light are the nutrients from love that gives us the breath of life. Without them, we would not be able to grow as seeds to become seedlings and finally to bear fruits. Love will always be a cycle and it would go hand in hand with time. Love will never grow old or dies away. It is not a perishable that would rot and decay.
Without any denial, love is not perfect. It carries some ugliness as well. While we say kindness and passions comes from a person with love, at the same time it also embodies jealousy, greed and hatred. Sometimes, even fear.
A mother is suppose to encompass love. Bearing a child in her womb for the next nine months, a mother naturally would love her child. The child is after all, the flesh and blood from her body. Yet we would hear stories about abortions or abandonment of babies mothers harming their children intentionally or neglecting their children. It is always sad when such happenings really exists, isn't it? Then, we would ask, what happens to love? A mother's love?
Recently, there are a series of books based on real life stories. One of them actually talks about a brother raping his sister when she was only twelve! A father who sexually abused his daughter and kept her hidden boring his children. These were actual cases of incests that are shocking and incomprehensible. What has happen to the love between kin ships? When has 'love' became so twisted and tasteless? In such circumstances, may we even talk about love?
While we are decrying the unfairness and cruelty of life, love do exists.
It takes courage to love a child who is being diagnosed with down syndrome. It takes love to take care of a child who is different from others kids. Whether this child is autistic, deformed or with life threatening illness. It the love from parents that gives this child the courage to live life out normally.
Love comes in various forms.Other than the familial love illustrated above, love exists between friends, lovers and strangers.
We are familiar with the love between friends and lovers, but strangers?
When tsunami and earthquakes came claiming thousands of lives, the world went to help. That, is a show of love. A love for humanity that seeks no returns. A love that is the universe of itself. That, is the truest gesture of love.
Here, what I really wanted to shout out is, love has no definitions!
What happened when love was twisted has nothing to do with love itself. The complexity of human is what twisted love out of proportions. Love has nothing to do with it because by itself, it is untainted.
