Poetry: I want to die

by Kristy Bolander

Created on: May 01, 2010

There is a place I will soon find,

Filled with joy and peace of mind.

I wish to talk of that spot,

But you won't accept the thought.

How do I say to you,

There is a place to start a new?

A land that won't make me fight,

For another day or night.

You sit here and touch so tenderly,

All that is left of me.

I wish we could turn back the time.

To before this illness of mine.

How do I tell your loving heart,

That soon mine will not restart?

There will be another place for us,

One of complete happiness.

I try to reach one last time,

To catch your hand in mine.

But you won't hear me say good-bye,

Because you can't let me die.

How do I tell you of Heaven's safe place,

When you still need to find faith?

For you can someday join me there,

Withing God's loving care.

Please try just one last time,

To look into these eyes of mine.

And bid me go to be free,

Of this illness that captured me.
