I went and bought a paper today,
Dreading what it might say.
I'm praying the visitor wasn't right,
And my daughter didn't die last night.
I turned away when times got hard
And never even returned a card.
I may not have wanted her to hold,
But I never meant for her to sleep in the cold.
I went and bought a paper today,
And cried at what it had to say.

Poetry: I cried for you
by Leigh Goessl
I cried for you the day the doctors came
And said you were unconscious
I cried for a childhood seemingly lost
Due to a tragic
It's been a long two years
Since letting you go
The pain never ends
It continues to grow
They say losing a child
Gets easier
I Cried for You
I cried for you
I prayed for you
I lied for you
You didn't even notice
I cleaned for you
I cared for you
I cooked
I cried when I first heard your voice, and saw your face, I cried for you. The moment I looked into your tiny eyes because
A letter to a friend in Heaven,
I cried for you today
But that is nothing new
Sometimes one thought of you
Can start me crying,
