When you drive your car, there are a lot of problems that might occur and many of them are related with your car tires(on Swedish they are called Bildäck). The main thing that you should remember in case of a problem is to stay calm and do not simply slam on your brakes. After you notice that one of your car tires is flat, you should get out of the road as soon as possible and also take all the safety precautions to get the attention of the other drivers. If you do not have any tools for that purpose, make sure that you will stop your car near something that the other drivers will notice such as a large tree.

One of the most common problems related with car tires(personbilsdäck) is the sidewall cut, which is likely to occur if there are any sharp objects on the road where you drive.  Furthermore, the condition of your car and car tires are likely to affect the dept and size of that cut such as low tire pressure and also overloading your vehicle. Therefore, make sure that you will watch the load rating of your car tires.

The sidewall cut can have all kind of shapes, but have in mind that even smaller cuts on the sidewall can become bigger due to the constant flexing of the sidewall when you drive. It is very important to regularly check your car tire pressure for any damage. In addition, in some cases your tire might become flat after a couple of days, so if you notice that there is a cut on your car tire sidewall immediately take your tire to an expert.

The best way to avoid that problem is to learn how to prevent it from appearing. For that purpose you should regularly check the pressure of your car tires, because if they are underinflated the chances for cut are higher. At your car owner’s manual you will find the recommended inflation pressure, so make sure that you will not exceed it. Another thing that you should do is to avoid driving on roads where there are glasses and also pieces of metal. Although, sometimes you might not be able to avoid that, make sure that you will drive carefully and also very important is to slow down your car. That way, you will reduce the damage done to your car tire's sidewall and the chances for any cut will be a lot lower. To read more about car tires, please follow this link.
