Poetry: Trust

by Sherri Coulter

Created on: April 30, 2010

Trust...that incandescent quality she possessed

shown upon her face as nothing less than joy.

Everything she touched turned new,

fresh like a spring day, after the showers.

But once, unable to find her way,

joy caste uncertainty across the brow of time.

Munificent the brain that unlocked shadow,

playing in the darkness brought substance of anything.

Joy, wisdom, cleaned away with rubbing.

Muddled layers remain in bondage.

Reaching out, reaching inward, there

will forever be fragments that cannot be put in place.
