Your baby's first birthday party is such an exciting event. More so for the parents than the child. You may have few little friend you want to invite from daycare or other children in your family. You will also want to have a few games to play with your guests. Your baby will not remember this day so it important for you to take as many photos as you can. It is also important to record the days events in journal for your child to look back on when they are older.

The guest list for a first birthday will include the grandparents and the aunts and uncles and all of the cousins. You want everyone to share in this very special day. Your baby will not understand why everybody is there, but they will certainly enjoy seeing everyone. You may also include other children from daycare or church. Those children will not understand that the day is for your baby, but they will enjoy the festivities nonetheless.

Photos are so important. My children are much older now and they love to see pictures of their first birthday. They do not remember the day. You should have plenty of film or if you have a digital make sure your memory card is clean and ready to roll. It is always fun for a party to give out disposable cameras to your guests and let them click away. Others will bring their own cameras so you will want to make sure you ask them for a copy of the pictures they take.

Games are great for the little ones. For a first birthday games like duck hunt and prizes for everybody are allot of fun. For duck hunt, you just get a tub of water and a few rubber duckies. Write a number on the bottom of each one and have prizes with a coordinating number written on it. Let the children pick a duck and you will give them the prize that matches. Prizes for everybody will be given out in the goody bags. After the cake and ice cream, you will want to start opening the gifts. This is the perfect time to pass out prizes for everybody. The younger children will not understand that the presents are not for them so giving them a little something that is just for them will help that situation.
