~ * A Tragic Love * ~
Drumming, drumming against my breast
The heart within us beating quick
Electric waves flow one to both
Prickling through each fiery host
Seasons change and each one grows
Priorities lead down different roads
The choices made have led us such
To find ourselves in separate homes
The drumming slowed to a steady pace
Settling into a more peaceful state
With the calm of a stable life
Rather stupidly, for you I wait
Under the strain, I’m cracking apart
For there are two members at war in my heart
One for him whom I have chosen
One for the love I turned away from
Of course, there is always a “right way”
But from that path, I tend to stray
The ache inside leads me at times
And I find it hard to keep myself safe
From the treacherous peril of what you are
Robbing from him what was yours from the start
