How an education can help you in your career

A mind once stretched by an idea never regains its original dimensions. This, as I understand it, is the basic principal of a human brain. Indeed, when we are born, we have to learn how to eat, talk, walk and communicate with people around us in an efficient way. This all goes down to basic instincts of human nature. This is how we evolved so much in the last decades of years, learning to build and control complex logical machines and real time automated systems, never even imagined in the last century.

The result of overall human progress in this era of logical computer evolution was reached by us striving for knowledge and by the knowledge being passed around the humanity. This is where education goes into work. Since we were small, we were taught by our parents, taught to eat healthy, how to match our clothes, to follow the bedtime routine and brush our teeth before we go to sleep. In reality, the life as we see it is a constant learning and evaluation of past experiences.

Public education further enhances our knowledge in key areas needed, like mathematics, language, science and perhaps art and music. This defines us as individuals and even though the secondary education can be seen as repetitive and general approach to develop public knowledge, it provides us with information and options on how to interpret it. This can then help us cope with new information in a workplace. Ability to process information and make a learned decision in an important situation is considered very important and would be one of the winning traits for a candidate to a managerial role in a workplace.

Overall, education not only gives you identity in this world but also helps keep potential employer interested in you. Indeed, if your education results are good, employer will be more interested in you, simply because this means better worker in the company and more educated person who could handle new information and perform a task correctly. Many modules in modern education systems are based on teaching a student to communicate his/her thoughts efficiently, e.g. in presentations. This is also a good characteristic for a potential employee, as structured approach and communication are also very valued in a workplace.

Education combined with experience are the main things employer looks at, so make sure to bring out the best in your CV - put best results at the top, highlight most relevant experience and go into an interview with a confidence gained from your years in university and school.
