With so many genres and titles to choose from, it is no wonder that the gaming industry is booming. Everyone will have their own favourite when it comes to video games and this is what makes the industry so great; the variety and choice available. Games have evolved a lot over recent years with better plots, graphics and game play mechanics, allowing them to appeal to a much wider market.
There are thousands and thousands of video games on the market today, but which ones appeal to me the most?
Gears of War was the first game I played on Microsoft’s latest Xbox 360 console. To tell you the truth I actually brought the console solely for this game, as it was a console exclusive at the time! So what keeps me hooked on this game? Well after completing the relatively short campaign a billion times, both co-op and solo, I started to experiment with the online features of the game. I then spent the majority of my gaming time playing ranked matches trying to rake in 10,000 kills so that I could unlock the prestigious ‘Seriously...’ achievement. The Sims was one of my first computer games and I fell in love with the series from day one. I waited for months for the latest released, The Sims 3, and wasn’t at all disappointed. One of my favourite parts of the game is being able to build a house from scratch, starting with little money and having to wait for your character to earn money, or Simoleons, before I can purchase new items or furniture for my house!
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
So this game may annoy me almost to death, but the online game play still keeps me coming back for more! With the campers, hackers and glitchers to one side, the game is a really addictive and fun game. I will admit that I play this game because I am fairly good at it... which allows
