Though I never searched for You, You sought me first
For always being there to quench my every thirst
For that I thank You
For being omnipresent though I would still try to hide
For never leaving me alone and being always by my side,
For that I serve You.
For knowing all the things that are right, and that are wrong,
For showing Yourself through Your creation and Your word to keep my faith strong,
For that I honor You.
For knowing my frame that I am but dust
For never changing and always staying the same so that I can trust,
For that I need You.
For knowing in eternity past of my every need
For sending Your Son to forgive me of my sinful deeds,
For that I praise You.
When every knee shall bow and tongue confess,
When I'll look to You and no one else,
For that I worship You.
But most of all:
For knowing that one day I will be called home and leave this wretched place,
For knowing that in all Your Glory You'll love me and hold me,
and wipe the tears from my face
For that I love You.
