Simple ways to be romantic

In the society today, it is easy to be bogged down with day-to-day duties between the job, home, pets and even your children. Even young adults, who haven’t made it down the aisle to marriage, find it hard to set time aside for that special one. Many times the one who means the most to you is somewhere way down on the list of to do’s. Romance usually comes naturally for many and for others, sometimes it’s a bit hard to reach.  Romance can appear regardless of where you are, or what you are doing as long as you are with that special one.

Many ideas can help that relationship grow and bloom without a lot of money spent. Some ideas are as follows:

1)      With all the rush and technology today, slow time down a little. Sit down and write a letter, yes a old fashion letter. It doesn’t have to really be mushy or state your undying love. It can simply be a letter of “I thought of you today and wanted you to know, how much you mean to me.” The next step is to mail the letter. With our communication mainly left to texting and e-mail and kind of impersonal, a love letter shows you took that extra time to show it.

2)      Shut the world out occasionally. Simply take your cell phone out and turn it off. Tell your special one, “This time is for you and me alone.” Usually your partner will do the same.

3)      On the spur of the moment, take your partner’s hand lightly kiss it and place it over your own heart. Simple movements directed at your special one, says so much more than words can.

4)      Leave a few candy kisses in a hidden spot. Pick a spot that your special one will find them and make sure it isn’t a spot where the candy will melt.

5)      Choose a time that you know your partner won’t be able to answer his or her phone. Call and leave a message. “I just called to let you know how much I love you.”

6)      Whisper in your partner’s ear those three little words.

7)      When walking together even if you are walking in a store, hold hands. Reach out and take their hand in yours and smile.

8)      When you are in a group socially and not standing together, look across the room and make eye contact. Let him or her know you purposely were looking for them.

9)      Take time to watch the sunset.

10)  When you meet in the hall or the kitchen, snuggle a hug or take a few seconds to dance a few steps.

Little things like touching, looking into each other’s eyes and just spending time with each other say more in a romantic way than most people realize. Romance doesn’t have to be a dozen roses or an expensive dinner; it just has to be a real feeling.
