I've got 15 minutes to tell the world what I think is the most important thing I could say. The networks are waiting for my words of wisdom. The world needs to know what I have on my mind. Wow! is the first thing that comes to mind to say. The next thought to surface into my head is what I believe the world needs most. I ask the world to pray for peace. Our kids are killing each other in the streets and in our schools. Families are torn apart everyday by violence and hate. Countries face off on the battlefield in the name of politics, boundaries and religion. Animosity grows and flourishes in our neighborhoods and across the world. Is there anything on Earth worth dying over? What could be more important than a human life?
I would ask every citizen of Earth to think of your own life and the lives of those closest to your heart. Imagine for a moment losing anyone close to you to violence. Visualize the sorrows of your mother, your brother, your best friend if you were to die today. Now put a stranger in their shoes. Grief is the same no matter who is experiencing it. No one should ever have to grieve the loss of a loved one to senseless violence and terrorism. In the end, all we have is each other. No land, no material item, no thing is worth fighting for. We leave this life just as we entered it and what happens in between birth and death is up to us. The lands of this great planet should belong to us all equally. Consider sharing the gifts that have been given to us. Besides our world, life is the greatest gift we could ever receive and it needs to be cherished and respected. We all should choose to love and be loved and let hatred go. Consider living a peaceful life for the short time that we are here together. The world would be a better place if we all could do that.
