Items for a guest room that will pamper your guests

When you’re on vacation, the hotel room that you stay in can either make you feel right at home or it can be a horrible experience. I’ve stayed in rooms that had comfy beds and beautiful bathrooms. But unfortunately I also had to stay in a place where no human being should be allowed to sleep; thanks to a not so good travel agent.

There are some trips that don’t require us to stay in a hotel because we can stay with either friends or family. At other times we may be the ones that open our own homes to those that are near to our hearts.

I believe that the conditions of a home and its guest room can make a huge difference in the way a guest feels during their visit. Just like we want to enjoy a nice room we should also prepare a room that would make a guest feel special and help them relax.

Here are 4 things we should put in the guest room before our visitor arrives.

*Candles

Scented candles really freshen up a room and their lighting makes the atmosphere cozy. There are many scents and many sizes to choose from. I prefer Glade candles and not only use them in my guest room but also throughout the house.

*Bubble Bath

If your guest is a woman, providing a jar of bubble bath or bath beads will help her relax after a long day of travel. Some scents are proven to promote relaxation; you can purchase them from a local grocery store or make a trip to the mall and buy them from Bath and Body Works.

*Music

Because you know your guest, you’re aware of their likes and dislikes. Providing a CD player and CD’s will help them to relax and feel serene. You can give them different types of music depending on their preference and I would suggest adding a CD that plays relaxing music such as “Soundscapes.”

*Personal Items

When packing for a trip we sometimes forget things. For women it could be the perfect outfit or for men it may be a favorite shirt. But there are some things that are “must haves” when it comes to going out of town; such as a toothbrush, shaving items, and other toiletries.

Putting these things in their room with a little note that says “just in case” will relieve stress if they forgot to pack something and will save them a trip to the drug store.

Finally I suggest arranging a basket to put all of these items in; almost like a gift basket that was tailor-made just for them. This will be the icing on the cake of a great visit. So enjoy your guest, make them feel special, and it will make their stay memorable.
