The attitude you have can positively or negatively affect the lifestyle choices that you make. There is always more than one way to view a situation. For example, let's say an individual was raised with a father that abused the mother. Upon reaching adulthood and finding a partner, the attitude that person had about the conditions they were raised is going to affect how they feel about abuse. On one hand, the person could feel that it is acceptable and choose to either be the aggressor or accept the abuse. On the other hand, one could have the attitude that they will never subject their child or partner to abuse like they had to experience.
Another example of attitude affecting a lifestyle decision, is how one feels about criticism. One might feel negatively about criticism and get angry and deny all accusations. Another individual may welcome the criticism as an opportunity to improve themselves.
The way we feel about things can harm us or help us. is often a good idea to contemplate if you are looking at things in a way that is going to be beneficial to you. We are constantly being faced with decisions that need to be made. Some are trivial and others are bigger than what we might realize.
Attitude can also affect how others view us. This might become important at work or in a social enviroment. If your boss feels you always view things in the positive light, he might feel you are a better suited for a promotion than someone that is always looking at things in a negative light. Potential friends might enjoy being around you if your attitude is always positive and uplifting. No one wants to be around a negative person all of the time.
Some may not even realize that their attitude could use a little adjustment. Our attitudes are apart of who we are and is not something we are always consciously aware of. It is a good idea to ask those who know you best what they see. You may be surprised to find that they see things completely different than what you do. Taking that into consideration, you may be able to make some minor adjustments that will turn you life in a more positive direction.
You may think that your attitude is perfectly fine, but, like everything else in life, there is ALWAYS room for improvement. How you feel about self-improvement is yet another example of your attitude affecting your life.
