Global warming is a fact but it turns out that many of us do not really believe that it is occurring.

Raising your head, you will consider the sky and your environment: your children are playing in the grass, the sun is shining and it is Spring. This is a great day and you just cannot believe that global warming matters to you.

Besides, scientists have warned: it will take about 50 years for the disaster to take place. They said there will be one. Definitely. Until then, you believe you should not worry for water will not be rising around so quickly. Even in your garden.

And then upon watching television the commentator said again what he said two months ago: new lands, new islands have sprung up in Greenland and the territory lost out there in 2008 is more than 8 times the size of France in one sole year.

But you do not mind it really because Greenland is far away. However your children said it is very bad that bears can no longer walk over the ice.

And then you get back to your garden as there is so much to do mostly with the household waste, an action that begins to be more and more part of your customs. So how could you believe that the end of the world will be arriving through global warming and climate change? After all they said not until the next 50 years ahead of us.

But now it is time you bathed the children. Tomorrow will be an other day.

A few days later, the same commentator tells you about the Maldives. Paradise islands, fabulous hotels, a relatively flat landscape. The highest point is 1.30 m from sea level and the water rises on and on slowly everywhere but the sky is so blue. Your children said it would be nice to go there for your holidays.

So you now start thinking about it all and begin to understand what is happening: the sea water is rising around. No one can stop it.

Destruction of the world because of the rising water ? You do not believe it.

Even though water rises, hills, countries with an altitude will be spared. You cannot think of any tangible link between water rising around and the destruction of the world because of global warming. Whether there is indeed an air pollution is a fact but it is unlikely that millions of people will suffocate because of it..

As a result, should something happen, it might not be because of global warming causing air pollution, it might be just because water is rising around everywhere.

This leaves only one possibility: the sea level will be higher in 50 years and people living along the coasts will probably have to leave, hence more concentration of population in certain areas and conflicts arising over the possession of lands.

Water is rising around.This is already true in Maldives, in Bangladesh, this will be true in harbours (New York, Marseilles, London, etc. ..)    

But even if those populations living above sea level will be unaffected by the rising sea levels, there will be a phenomenon that is much slower, more insidious: in London the Thames will be rising in the City water drains. Can you foresee the results? No. When water rises that way it will jam our toilets, bathrooms all the underground water pipes.

There will be a disaster. So the end of the world will not come down from climate warming, that is to say from the sky. It will insidiously undermine slowly our cities for it will be coming up from under.

Our Civilization will then be hit and we might return to our primitive origins with tremendous needs to repair circuits while outstanding crisis will be looming up everywhere.

Well in 50 years from now, it is said. So we have time to worry!
