The earth begins to awaken as the sun peeks slowly above the mountains.
The clouds remind of a child’s drawing I saw once,
pink, purple, burgundy, orange and red swirling together, dancing.
The birds are chirping as the sun now rises completely above the mountains.
If you listen you can hear the wind blowing ever so slightly.
The leaves and flowers are coming to life as the sun kisses them good morning.
As the sun rises the rays stretch out over the earth, embracing everything in its path.
The earth is now awake as the sun reaches the sky where it sits ready to spend the day.

Poetry: As the sun rises
by Leigh Goessl
Darkness sets in
Even as the sun rises
Awaken in the morning
And remember all the lies
Haunted by the stories
Sad from the reality
As the sun rises
I’m wide wake
Shake off the sleep
That has attached
Itself to me all I need
Is a new day to start
Over
As the sun rises
Hope leaps
Assurance soars
Brightness increases
Sun rises
Grace jumps
Love expands
Faith springs
Rays of light streaming down,
casting shadows all around.
Golden goddess warm my skin.
Let your rays of light shine in.
Sunlight comes out only at noon,
Leaving the mourning soul behind,
Lost the glow in early frown,
Scattering stars in the dark
