To look at Brian McPherson one would not necessarily assume that he was stupid. After all Brian was chief executive of a large manufacturing company on a salary of over a million dollars a year plus performance bonuses. One simply does not get to earn that sort of salary if one hasn't got the ability and drive to overcome all obstacles and rise to the very pinnacle of success.
If one thought that a person like Brian had an easy life one would be mistaken. Brian did have a family life in his early years as a junior clerk in the business but as ambition took hold of him he first lost his wife in an ugly divorce and later on his children. In his drive to reach the top he devoted almost all his time to the business with very little time for his family. All too often his family suffered as one excuse after another was given for missing meals and other family occasions. It was little wonder then to all who knew him that ultimately his marriage would end in divorce and his children would ignore him completely.
The divorce and loss of contact with his children did not bother Brian. On the way to the top Brian became ruthless in decision making believing his decisions were the only ones correct. As fate would have it ninety nine percent of the time his decisions were correct. Time and time again his drive and devotion to the company paved the way for its rise from a small manufacturing business to the giant global company it had become today.
All the drama he experienced on his way to the top exacted a price. Brian was prepared to pay the cost of losing his family . The business compensated for that. One price he found difficult to pay was that exacted on his health. His doctor had him on all sorts of pills to keep him in reasonable health. Brian took pills for blood pressure. Brian was overweight and ate very rich foods so he took tablets for cholesterol. Brian took pills for diabetes that he assured his doctor he was experiencing even though the doctor has sent him for tests which showed his blood sugar levels were normal. Over a period of time if Brian came to his doctor with a symptom the doctor did not argue with him. At a very early stage the doctor had learned to comply with what ever Brian wanted.
In short Brian had become a very dictatorial type of man quite convinced that he was destined to become one of the great men in history. One day it came
