Spiritual makeover: Changing from the inside
Respect yourself and others will respect you.
Confucius (551 BC - 479 BC)
A large number of people in our society suffer from depression and anxiety. We strive in this life to try and please others. We look for approval from other people. Our standards for our self are made while trying to please others. In fact the Christian religion would label us “Sheep.” A blind flock guided by only one master. “You must believe in Jesus or you burn in hell.” At least that is how I was raised.
Being a naturally curious human being I would probably go to hell several times over for the sins I have committed. At least if I measure my life experience by Christian standards. In my 35 years of bad choice I have truly evolved into a wonderful person, who I know pleases God.
Now, this is coming from a person who only a few years ago struggled with wanting to kill myself. I actually went through the motions and wound up in the hospital more than once. Currently I have now come to a sense of peace.
I am happy with my life. I love my daughter so much. I am a reiki master and going to school to be a councilor. In a sense I am picking up the pieces and changing from the inside.
It has taken a great deal for me to feel at peace. Allot of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Reiki, diet, and meds to get to the point of feeling stable. Now I have begun on a healing journey. My path is winding towards a successful life.
No longer do I try to please others. I live my life in the present. I try to take absolute accountability for my actions. Most of all I am working on forgiving myself. Of all the people in our lives, we as individuals chastise our selves holding our self back. We tend to be our own worst critic.
In fact considering life is about Dharma and Karma I have to wonder why we do this to our selves. Life is about lessons. It is about growing stronger in the hard times. The lessons even the hard ones serve the purpose of strengthening our sprit. We evolve through our free will.
We do not have a God and Devil playing dibs over our souls. We have a loving creator who is standing by our souls every step of the way. As I have mentioned before we are co-creators creating a beautiful life day by day for ourselves.
It is this power of Co-creation that will help is evolve and change into the person who we are meant to become. This knowledge helps design, our physical self’s path to the future that we create for ourselves by our actions.
So, it is how we look at our spirit, how we evolve our spirit, that changes us to become who we are meant to be.
