Remember the days when you could hear "Hey Adrian" at any moment and no one would anything of if. Well those days for about twenty years have been gone. With the invention of Rocky V and Tommy Gunn; where a wanna be Don King blinged up the screen with bad acting and blatant product placement. But that era of useless movies strictly for money are over. Now were back to where we should be. Welcome to Rocky Balboa, a movie that stays true to the original.
Sylvester Stallone does a wonderful job of getting that working man down in the dumps but still has something left feel of the original Rocky. Although slow starting this movie gives a great background of what has happened and leads into a great journey where an aged Rocky has something to prove. Not to the rest of the world, but just to himself. It's definitely the age and tenacity versus youth and speed argument.
This movie, if viewers will give it a chance, will surprise anyone expecting to see just another sequel. Its as if it was a new movie dealing with boxing was made. Just a great movie for everyone that wanted to see Rocky just one more time in a halfway decent movie. Welcome back to the days of Apollo Creed and great acting and even better fights. I foresee this movie Missing at the box office. But just because of the previous sequel. I hope people give it a chance and realize Stallone cares about this movie and wants all of us to remember to find out what we still have left inside.
