Internet sites you couldn't live without

When you live for the Internet, your lifestyle comes with the complete package. And it is not avoidable - when you buy the goods then you use them, too.

Put the Internet to work for you and make your cyber-lifestyle complete. Here are the web sites that you cannot live without:

#1. Dogpile

If you like to see your on-line services acting as such, Dogpile delivers across a slate of popular search engines what you will be looking for in most cases. Arfie's own life changes throughout the year in bringing to you your specified choice of information.

Tip: You can get a provisional Dogpile Search for Internet Explorer 8 immediately by going directly to Dogpile's home page and looking for the respective (Javascript) link.

#2. Answers.com

As a basic point of order, I don't see Answers.com duplicating search engine functionality - not in the least. This site is best used for your basic intelligence needs as a reference engine capable of turning up word definitions and spellings or multiple encyclopedic entries on any subject whatsoever. You can also use the site in the course of international researches.

Tip: A provisional Answers.com search for Internet Explorer can be found by selecting the "Find More Providers..." option in the built-in IE8 search window.

#3. PCworld.com

Where do you go for 'ware reviews and the best prices on used computer merchandise? PCWorld.com has these bases covered often where others fail.

#4. Facebook

We are talking major uplink potential. Gone are the days where forums rule. On Facebook you get content.

The forum itself is yours to run like a never-ending thread of relentless expansion simplified in the net world only by Twitter. You can browse and share bumper sticker archives, play games, or participate in commercial pages for special updates and announcements, opportunities, conversation, video, and other multimedia.

Tip: Check out the Flock web browser that will log you on automatically without the hassle of other browsers promising to remember passwords but somehow never really working out.

#5. Creative Commons

You use the Internet for a lot of regular activities, and if you want your own web site or need to ramp up your resourcefulness by finding content that you can use then Creative Commons not only may have what you are looking for but possibly has it without charge, depending on the individually-stated license agreement.

#6. Twitter

Twitter is a wonderful site if you like to follow along in real-time to an ongoing, streaming channel.
