A Country Divided: Political Tensions Building in America

The journey of America as a nation is on the cusp of a generational change, which pits wisdom against progressive thought. Even party-line Republicans and Democrats find dissidence between the generation gap of their own members. This has spawned upstart local branches of the parties such as the “Tea Party” (R) in Arizona or the “Grassroots Democrats” (D) of Oregon, which are breaking the ties with the big names of Bush and Obama.

The contradictions each party has for the other begins with “How” America must change, yet both agree that changes are necessary for the country to return to prosperity.

The Republican Party has suffered many splinters over the years, as the definition of sub groups is visible in the clarity of instant technology. The old tag lines of Republican and Conservative Republican now mingles more easily with the moderate, and even “liberal” republicans and any other sliver group that considers themselves to be Republicans.

This promotes a natural tension within the overall umbrella title of Republicans, as with the past limits on communication, party members relied on the party as source information, which to members is reliable.

It was acceptable to have a “Conservative” in the community newspapers and television reporting; with internet access, one can travel the virtual world in search of their own news.

The enduring image of Bill Clinton as the most dynamic of the Democratic leaders since JFK, lasted even amidst scandal and a congressional coup de tat, but it left the party weak, and fearful.

The Democrats failed to run a candidate of any significance for eight years, which was worsen by not challenging the two questionable elections during that time.

Even as the reins of Washington fall into the blue hand majority, the party is yet to merge into a single voice as the “liberals” and the “Socialists” squabble over who should be the next “entitled” class.

The political tensions building in America are increasing as the interparty tensions increase, splintering more special interest wings of both parties. It is a celebration of “Freedom of Expression,” as these smaller groups operate under the larger flag of Republican or Democrat, forwarding their individual special interests under the guise of the full sway of the party.

Unfortunately the old adage: “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” does not hold true in the political arena. The benefit of the building tension is the rise of passionate, outspoken leaders whom have the personality and morality to lead America back to prosperity.
