Gift ideas for men aged 50-65

What men of 50 to 65 really want as gifts!

Buying gifts for men aged fifty and up needn’t be all that difficult!

The most important thing that you need to remember is that ALL men no matter what age group they fall into, are still little boys (or teenagers) at heart!

How do I know this, it’s simple – I’m forty-nine and will be fifty in less than a month!

I am an expert on this subject!

My motto is “Growing old is inevitable but growing up is optional!”

The last things I want anyone to buy me as presents are sweaters, socks, shirts, ties, aftershave, gloves, slippers or “jokey” gifts that say I’m over the hill!

Mugs, tankards, and other drinking vessels are a non – starter too.

Clothing and other personal items are very difficult to choose for other people, sometimes they just don’t suit personal tastes, or they don't  fit.

I’m a big boy now so I think I know what I'd like to wear and I'd really like to choose my wardrobe myself!

Aftershave too is a personal choice, it may smell great to you but you're not going to be wearing it!

My sincere advice is to avoid all “personal” items like the plague!

So what DO we mature men really want?

We want things that take us back to our youth, to when we were free agents without cares and worries like mortgages and responsibilities like wives and children.

Don’t get the wrong idea, we love our families dearly and wouldn't change them for the world, but every now and then it’s nice to feel “alive” again!

If you’re lucky enough to be VERY well off, (that counts me out), then think about your mans youth, what were his interests?

I’d be delighted if someone gave me a gift wrapped motorcycle on my big day, or maybe a two seater!

Nearly all men like technology in one form or another, I’m a bit of a gadget freak myself and have just rekindled an old interest in radio control models.

I may not be rich enough to own a full size power boat but I can afford to own and race two models at a local club – great fun!

Planes and helicopters are available, ranging from very cheap micro models that can be flown indoors to more expensive models that perform like the real thing!

If he’s into “Top Gear” why not buy him a scale model car, there are off road and on road versions powered by batteries or if you want extra realism petrol
