Have you ever wondered where all the Punks have gone?
Well I do, everyday! When did Punk Rock die? I think it was about the time of Emo's
uprising that Punk Rock resigned its rightful place at the top.
I only say this because everyone who says their punk nowadays sits around bitching about relationship problems and how noone loves them, or how shitty their life is, or that their parents wont buy them a PS3.
THIS IS NOT PUNK! SIMPLE PLAN IS NOT PUNK! AVRIL IS NOT PUNK! GREENDAY, sad enough to say, IS NOT PUNK ANYMORE!
It really bothers me that so many bands that were punk sold out to this fad called Emo because it makes money. Its just depressing bullcrap, and I dont understand why people actualy listen or pay any attention to it? It makes you sad, why are so many people so happy about angst?!?
Punk is about something real, not cut rists and broken heart hand grenades...
Its a revolution of self expression. Its an additude about yourself, Its knowing that what you say is all that matters to you! Most importantly, its about living the way YOU want to, and not by the status quoe, unfortunatly, everyone is so afraid of being in trouble with their parents, their girlfriends, or the government to do things their way, and noone is ballsy enough to take the slightest risk, so they all conform to the so called norm, and that norm is not Punk, so why be a punk?
Well, Punk is dead and there is nothing anyone can do but start punk bands and live for themselves... Im going to ask all of my readers now, please, start a real punk band. Please dont conform. Please live your own life, after all, style comes from inside you, not TRL, and thats truly how you be a Punk!
