THE GOVERNMENT IS NOT MY SHEPHERD
The government is not my shepherd,
that I should want;
it makes me yearn for our histories green pastures.
It propels me into waves of burdens;
it is the thief of my potential.
It leads me down a warped path
for its name sake.
Even though I endeavor while watching my
country’s demise and foresee its future trepidation,
I will resist the evil fear,
for my U.S. Constitution is with me;
its precepts and its integrity, they comfort me.
Surely rugged individualism and debate shall save my great country
all the days of my life;
and I shall dwell in the Land of the Free and
the Home of the Brave forever.
