Do we really need Mother's and Father's Days to show our appreciation?

No, we do not need Mother's and Father's Days to show our appreciation. We do not have to buy our parents expensive cards and presents on Mother's and Father's Day to show them how special they are to us. Many people think that this is the only day of the year that they can show their parents how much they love them. This is not true. Mother's and Father's Days are special, and it is nice to have these days to show our parents how much we really love them. There is nothing wrong with spoiling your parents on this day, but Mother's and Father's Day should be everyday.

Appreciation to parents for all that they have done for us can be shown in many different ways. It can take the smallest gesture to show our parents how much we really love them, and this can be done by helping them with the chores on a weekly or daily basis or giving them pocket money to spend on items that they want. A present bought annually for a parent does not need to show our appreciation for them. Sometimes a simply '' thank you'' or a hug and kiss is enough to give to our mothers and fathers.

Mother's and Father's day is just a marketing gimmick. Shops make a lot of money out of this day, and many people flock to buy their parents some useless gift that they throw away after a year or two. These events have been heavily commercialized over the past couple of years, and many people feel that they have to do something for their parents on this day or it makes them look like a bad child. This is not true as these days are more for businessmen to cash in on making more money.

Many people want to do things for their parents to show them how much they love them, and appreciate them as they get older. This can be done on any day of the year, and it should not be restricted to Mother's and Father's Day. Many parents also just like their children to spend more time with them, and this can be in the most simple way like having a cup of coffee with the parents.  Parents can be appreciated at any time, and it does not have to stop at a certain date.
