As he laid there, before closing his eyes and drifting off into a much needed rest he looked back on his journey. He could not believe he had finally made it his far. It seemed so long ago when he started that he could not recall the exact starting point.
He did remember however that the journey started out easy. He also remembered how at some points it was such a struggle; he did not think he could go on. With his pride and determination, he said on several different stops “I will not give up, I will press on to reach the top to see what it all looked like from a different perspective.”
Many times he did recall there were helping hands. People told him that a journey like this would be tuff to go it alone, some called him a fool, and others offered prayers. He took it all strides but in the end he knew or at least at the time thought he knew what was needed to make the journey and make it all the way to the end. And now he was there. The trip was over. The time had come to prove to all that he did it without the help of anyone.
His eyes were getting heavy and the wear and tear, heartaches and disappointments, losses and joys were all taking their toll on him. He had to fight to keep his eyes open and his mind clear, as he wanted to reflect back on some moments of the journey.
The harder he tried the more frustrated he became. He could not at that moment pin point any one specific time of his journey. All he could recall were the many times people would come up to him and offer their advice. They would tell him the direction he was going would not get him were he wanted to end up. That if he continued on the path he was going he would not be where he wanted to be.
Many times the people were polite, many times not. He could recall several had given directions on paper. He remembered looking at them and seeing no need for them and throwing them away. Some would sit and talk to him and point out all the things they thought he was doing wrong as he made his journey.
