I walked a few miles
To get where i got
I faked a few smiles
And that took a lot
I'm still walking
Though my feet are sore
I won't stop talking
About this bullshit war
In case you don't know
This is a happy song
I'll blow on my harmonica
And bang on my gong
There's a band not ashamed
Call themselves "Lone Gunmen"
That's a cool enough name
Wonder if they'd do somethin'
If you're still in mourning
Then shake your tambourine
In that jingle-jangle morning
With protest sounds serene
But in case you forget
I'll sing a happy song
I'll blow on my harmonica
And bang on my gong
If we can't muster the rage
We'll drop out and grow our hair
Grow parsley, rosemary and sage
Smoke from our weed rises into air
Get out our carpenter's hammer
Build us a quiet place
Away from the city's clamor
And the rabid rat race
Grow a new generation of flowers
With an instinct to bloom
Away from the twin towers
Of decadence and doom
So smile for me, now
This is a happy song
I'll play you some harmonica
And bang on my gong
Smile and forget all you know
Sing a quiet cheerful song
Easy with that harmonica
Easy as a train whistle's long

The bankers own our government
They're chargin' us to hell
Government drools like Pavlov's dogs

What are we saying to the children
when their everything has gone away
