Just Want to Enjoy My Movie!
Late arrivers squeeze through the aisles for seats, the shhh’s battles, and lovebirds making their own movies and are some of the distractions that make the movie going experience less than pleasant. Below are some tips to help avoid making you the star of a bad movie experience.
Arrive a few minutes early: (1) Arriving early gives you enough time to purchase tickets, refreshments, use the restroom and find a comfortable seat. (2)Check the time of your movie online, in the newspaper or by calling the movie hotline.
Seating: (1) Once you find a seat, refrain from going in and out of the theater. (2) When going through the aisles, do not put your rear end in the face of others. (3)Putting your feet up in the chair may be comfortable, but not at the expense of the person in front of you comfort. (4)Sit still, too much movement may make your neighbor uncomfortable.
Noise Level: (1) Do not talk during the movie, save your discussion for the ride home. (2)Laughing at a funny scene is natural, but do not go overboard, loud outburst and over exaggerated laughing is unnecessary and annoying.
Comments: Try to keep comments to a minimum, especially if they may offend those around you.
Telephones: Turn off your phone or put it into a silent mode when entering the theater. Phones should not ring or vibrate during the film, the light from texting is also a distraction to the people next to you.
Affection: Please do not make your own movie in the theater by being overly affectionate. This kind of behavior is inappropriate in public, especially in the presence of children.
Food: Do not bring your own dinner to the movies, most movie settings are not designed fore a meal, eat before you arrive, purchase a snack, or wait until the movie is over.
Parents: If you are a parent and at times drop your child off to the movies unsupervised, please discuss the importance of proper behavior with them. Improper behavior often leads to violence. Also, it is not good for your children to be chastised by strangers.
It is important to take the necessary precautions to ensure a safe environment for our children and others. Let’s take all of the necessary precautions to ensure a safe environment for our children and others as well a preparing them to “Blossom” into the leaders of tomorrow.
