There are moments in life that put you on pause. You don't expect them; which is how I know they are genuine. Between the role I play as mother, and the Goddess that lies inside of me, are many things, colliding into one another; trying to make sense. Today, such a moment occurred as was mentioned earlier, and I was paused for a moment, caught completely off guard, and shown something so beautifulsomething so sacred, that I will carry it forever.
There is a beach, about a mile from my house, that just became a sanctuary for me. I have often been drawn to this beach. In the summers, my kids and I spend a lot of time there, but it is the early morning hoursthe times I spend alone there, that I cherish the most. This isn't an ocean beach, it's a lake beach (they all draw me in, no matter what the body of water consists of), located in central Arkansas, USA.
This morning, I drove to this beach, as if it were calling me there. I stepped out of the car and began to walk down to towards the water. It was as if I were being led, not really walking. I felt very light on my feet. There are trees everywhere, and I walked by one and stopped to look at it. I then did something I haven't done in quite a long time; I hugged it. I wrapped my arms around it and hugged it. Then I walked on. I looked down and was urged to pick up a white stone that lay in my path. I did so. I walked a little further, and yet another stone nudged at me to pick it up. Again, I listened and did what my soul urged me to do. I now had two little pebbles in my pocket, and was walking right for the water's edge. The sounds in the background of ducks calling, and boats from the marina across the bay, clinging and dinging as they bumped one another, made me feel so safe, and sounded like home. I felt grateful for being alive! My next instinct, was to draw in the sand. I picked up a wet, but firm stick beside the water, and began to draw. I drew four symbols. The first two symbols Were the symbols for gratitude. I drew them, looked at them, and immediately moved on. The next symbol I drew was one that has been in my mind for such a long time. It is two infinity symbols, crossing one another. After that, I drew the final symbol. I believe it is called a "celtic cross". The symbol has always been on my mind, and one day, while researching symbols and their meanings, I found it in a book. Anyway, I drew it... I then looked at my symbols, looked up, and saw the fog beginning to lift. As it was lifting
