Poetry: Only memories

by James Gatz

Created on: April 21, 2010

I look inside and see the memories, caged like animals they fight to be lose.

With insatiable fangs, my soul devoured, is this my personal truth.

The observers look at this and pass on by with a smile.

They think this will be entertaining for awhile.

As my sorrow looks upon the crowd,I wonder what they would say if they knew how.

But as that is not the case, I resign myself to keep things the same way.

Is this my destiny, is this my punishment?

Where did i get lost, why did i lose the path?

Am i meant to carry these animals for ever, or will i someday be allowed to pass?

I think to myself that i cant do it,for i wish this life on no one.

And with that thought I resound to sit alone.
