“I float through life like a leaf on a river, because I put my trust in God”
To every person God is different. For some people there is no God simply because they don’t believe. But for believers there definitely is a God and that God has a different meaning to each and every individual. There are so many religions out there but the one focal point of all these religions is God and more importantly believing and trusting in God. To trust in God is a fulfilling thing for believers because they believe in God so they know their trust is well placed. You can’t trust in something that you don’t believe in, so to be able to trust you have to be able to believe first. Many people out there are still searching for God. Others consider themselves Christians but they aren’t fully convinced that God exists. Now one has to wonder what could possibly come from putting your trust in something you do not firmly believe in – nothing.
[i](Hebrews 11:6 NIV) And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
It often happens that one comes to a point in their lives where one has experienced a lot of different things, some good some bad, and through this experience one comes to actually know one’s self and realize that through knowing one’s self one actually comes to know God. For some this process doesn’t take as long, but I believe that God has a purpose for some of us taking longer to find him than others, almost like a mission that we need to complete before we are equipped enough to know God.
[ii](John 15:5-6 NIV) "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. {6} If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned
Once we reach the point where we fully believe in God we can give over our full trust to him and have faith in him to lead us through the path of our life, all the while trusting that whatever happens does so for a greater purpose than we understand because the reigns are in Gods hands. Through giving our trust to God fully we can be at peace and make peace with many current and previous conflicts in our lives, because we have that great trust
