Poetry: Uncontrollable feelings

by Matthew Molgaard

Created on: April 20, 2010

Beast in the flesh left to fight for some form of

Cleft in the rhetoric let it be enough for me to change order

Brain disorder, vane name been born of

I’m not a saint, I’m a sinner, I’m a soldier

I sold you sadness neatly wrapped in a package

Shrink wrapped in a basket, you couldn’t wait to hold it

Who’s the hero, the heroine, the villain?

All of those limits have been so blurred it’s hard to fill in

This is my masterpiece, peaceful chaos

It’s war up inside of my soul, let’s have a séance

Character craps, put it all on the table

And exercise my ability to murder the stable

Russian roulette, I hear the cylinder spin

It whistles in a whisper before the memories end

Purgatory, it’s my nightly nightmare

My hot cup of coco on my paralyzed high chair.
