Five years we were together,
Through high school and into UNI
Then I see you walking, smiling and laughing
Not with me. Who did you say was Amanda?
Three times, you see other girls
Three times I forgive you for it
Three times my heart breaks again
And three times you make promises again and again.
You come to me in the night
I wake up with traces of your scent
I wish you would be closer
But there’s Amanda who you deny to me.
I want you there, even though you aren’t
Your presence is enough love to me
Your arms around me the commitment I seek
But couldn’t you just be a little closer?
Even though you’re still with me.
